Ramgarh ,Jammu. It was a small ceremony conducted at border village of Ramgarh,Jammu, to remember Sep Gurdeep Singh Sonu ,Sena Medal, of 8 SIKH . This brave soldier made supreme sacrifice on 6 July 1999, at Kargil, while fighting to evict Pakistanis from Indian territory . The battlefield was littered with the blood of the soldiers ,while fighting for control of Tiger Hill complex.The gallant jawans of 8 SIKH unfurled the Tricolour ,after beating back 3 counter attacks of Pakistanis, with chanting of blood chilling War Cry. The programme is organized every year at the memorial of Sep Gurdeep Singh, Sena Medal, by his father, , Sh Mohan Singh, with the help of villagers. The NCCHWO head of J&K ,Brig Harcharan Singh and Capt Ghar Singh were also felicitated by the Organizers , for their work for ESM and Veer Naris . Presentation was made by ex Minister Sh Manjit Singh. The sacrifice made by Sep Gurdeep Singh is a source of aspiration for the youth of the area, who want to join Indian Army to serve their motherland. The function site was vibrating again and again with the slogans of Bole So Nihal, Jai Hind and Bharat Mata Ki Jai.
