1. A grateful nation never forgets it's dead and the Bravehearts, who ensured that the enemy is given a bloody nose. Precious lives of many soldiers are lost and many are injured during war, while defending the Borders . The Indio Pak War of 1971 resulted in bifurcation of Pakistan and around 93000 Pakistanis surrendered to the Indian Army. Such a glorious feat is unlikely to be witnessed again by the world. It was a result of a fine coordination between the political and military Leadership of India, resulting in a brilliant military plan and its execution.
2. This year ,the country is celebrating the completion of 50 years of victory as Azadi Ka Mahotsav.16 December is celebrated as Vijay Diwas , to remember the Surrender of around 93000 Pakistani Soldiers, which lead to creation of a new Nation Bangladesh, after a spectacular victory of Indian Armed Forces. Vijay Diwas was celebrated on 16 December at Jammu by the Army at Balidan Stambh, a War Memorial erected in the honour of all those who laid down their life for the country. Lt Governor of J&K, Sh Manoj Sinha was the Chief Guest . Northern Army Commander Lt Gen YN Joshi, UYSM,AVSM, VrC,VSM and other senior dignitaries from Army, Police and J&K Govt were present.
3. It was a matter of Honour for NCCHWO that two of the Golden members were also felicitated. Col Dr Virendra Kumar Sahi, VrC, was honoured for his brave action in 1971 in Chaamb sector, when he was severely wounded . He was awarded Vir Chakra for his bravery of very high order. He held to his defences, though being injured. Intensity of battle was such that both sides got into close quarter battle and Bayonet assault. The superb leadership of Col Virender Kumar Sahi saved the day. Hony Capt Bana Singh, PVC was felicitated by the Lt Governor in the ocassion for his bravery of highest and exceptional order during capture of Quaid Post of Pakistan at Siachen in year 1986. For this brave action , he was awarded the highest gallantry award of Param Vir Chakra.
4. Very prominent citizens have joined NCCHWO . We are proud to have members , who are a role model for the country. Through the examples of these iconic personalities and gallantry award winners, NCCHWO intends to motivate the youth to serve their country in a selfless manner. In the past , decorated soldiers and Veer Naris have participated in NCCHWO sponsered programmes , where the citizens and members of NCCHWO got opportunity to express their gratitude to our brave soldiers and families of those soldiers,who sacrificed their lives during the course of their duty.More if these kind of motivational programmes will be held in future.
