1. Our country achieved certain milestones in yea 2021 in the field of sports with record haul of medals tally in Tokyo Olympics and World Shooting Championship. The success was possible due to combined efforts put in by the Sports Ministry, dedicated players , coaches and Sports Federations. Adequate budget allotment is crucial for acquiring appropriate training facilities.
2. Arjun Bhandari is a gifted sportsman from J&K. In 2010, his Right Arm was damaged in an vehicle accident. Instead of losing heart, he dedicated his energies to peruse the game of Power Lifting. He won Gold Medal in Special Category in National Power lifting Competition in year 2019 and 2021. The financial support is crucial for advance training and participation in International Powerlifting Championships. An International Powerlifting Championship was scheduled at Kathmandu in December 2021.
3. To support the participation of Arjun Bhandari to Powerlifting Championship at Kathmandu, an NGO, National Corruption Control and Human Rights Organization, NCCHWO, came forward to help Arjun Bhandari. National Administrator of the NGO ,Brig Harcharan Singh made appeal to citizens of Jammu/ members of NCCHWO. The required donations were made by Mr Swatantar Aggarwal, Mr Navin Jain, Col Ajay Raina , Ms Paramjit Kour and Ms Meena Jaggi. Mr Arjun Bhandari could get registered and train himself for the event, after finances were made available .Sponsership was fully justified when he bagged a Gold Medal in the Powerlifting Championship on 18 December at Nepal . 4. Mr Arjun Bhandari was received by members of NCCHWO and family members at Jammu Air port on 21 December. It goes without saying that we have so many promising sportsmen, who can bring laurels for the country at International level, if timely help is provided for quality training. Arjun Bhandari is a role model for the youth ,who has overcome his physical disability and dedicated his energies to bring laurels for the family and the State. Brig Harcharan Singh said that such promising sports persons should be projected as role model for the youth, who take the challenges of the life with a stong resolve and determination.
