1. The society has number of people who reach out to the local Administration to seek justice for atrocities committed on them, by unsocial elements. Police has a great role to play , when complaint on breech of Law and Order is made .NCC&HWO acts as an important link to help the citizens,who do not get appropriate help from the Police.
2 . In a recent case ,one Ex Army soldier , Mr.Manjunath ,from Hunasur , Karnataka, had to face the high headedness of the local police authorities. Manjunath was threatened by his Cousins not to grow crops in his fields . His crops were destroyed and he was warned of dire consequences and violent reaction against his family , in case he enters his own fields again. Manjunath reported the matter to local police, but police didn't respond positively. Next day , Manjunath told his problems to NCC&HWO President HS Nanjunda . Further help was taken from President of another NGO ( AKMSS ) , Mr K P Divakar. Thus a combined delegation of more than 20 Officers visited Tehsildar and DYSP Ravi Prasad at Hunsar.
3. It was due to timely action of prominent citizens led by NCCHWO ,that immediate orders were passed to concerned police officer to lodge a FIR, arrest the culprits and provide protection to the family of Manjunath.The whole episode gave a peace of mind and solace to an old soldier and reimposed faith of police in the mind of citizens. The team of prominent citizens felt happy to help somone in distress.
