1. We all take motivation from the life stories of great people , written in golden letters in the history. The soldiers have been influencing the youth of the nation with their stories of exemplary character, leadership, courage ,sacrifice and determination. To draw inspiration, NCCHWO unit of J&K visited the War
Memorial located at Samba, built in memory of the Martyrs of 1965 War from 3 MADRAS Regiment. The team offered flowers to pay respect to the seven soldiers ,who laid down their life during the war. The tributes were paid by Brig Harcharan Singh, Ms Paramjit Kour and Ms Gurvinder Kour.
2. After paying tributes to the War Heros, the team moved to the house of a Veer Nari , Ms Rajni Devi, whose husband Havildar Rakesh Kumar, Shaurya Chakra, sacrificed his life while defending the borders of the country. The Veer Nari has been adopted by Ms Gurvinder Kour. The ladies from civilsociety of J&K , keep on visiting the adopted families of Martyrs, in order to interact with them.The Martyres families are treated like an extended family by the ladies. Active participation is made in Important celebrations/ events of the Martyres families. This is a method to pay tribute and gratitude to the sacrifices made by the soldiers.
3. Brigadier Harcharan Singh said that interaction of citizens with our army /Martyres, motivates civilians, with their stories of sacrifice and selfless service for the nation. The NCCHWO is completing two years of its raising on 11 September. Such like meaningful programmes will be organized in future also to draw motivation from the life stories of soldiers and other renowned citizens ,who have excelled in various fields.
