*"Food for everyone"*
1. Appreciable initiatives are being taken by NCCHWO in various Welfare related activities, recognised in the past by officials of Niti Ayog.The pandemic has put strain on various resources of the Government , which requires supplemented efforts by NGOs , for better results . NCCHWO has been active in various States to supplement various Welfare Schemes meant for needy and poor.. In J&K , the organization of NCCHWO is hardly 2 to 3 months old. However, the members have started contributing for the society, through various means. 2. Starting from 26 Jan this year, with barely a strength of four members, the NCCHWO unit in J&K , collectively organized unfurling of National Flag , in the presence of a War Decorated Soldier of 1971 war. Again, another function was organized to gift Tricycle Wheelchairs to poor and needy citizens ,with physical disability.Masks and Sanitizers were distributed to Orphanages.Members have decided to felicitate Veer Naris of 1971 war, to pay homage to the soldiers , who gave their life for the country. All these events are being done with the support of around 15 NGOs of J.& K , under the banner of NCCHWO. 3. Mrs Rohini Aima , member of NCCHWO ,J&K, mobilized the resources to provide healthy and safe meals to relatives of COVID patients and other needy persons, who find it difficult to get meals , due to movement restrictions and having come from far flung areas. She is incharge of education Welfare related projects. Mrs Rohini Aima, is presently principal cum vice chairperson of
*JAMMU SANSKRITI SCHOOL, JAMMU . All faculty members of her school joined her in this noble venture. As per the requirement received from the needy persons, dry Ration items, cooked food, Biscuits etc are supplied.Contribution for this drive is being made by the school faculty on volunteer basis, from their own pocket.
5. The preparation of meals , packing and distribution of food packets is being done by the school staff . An local NGO, Gracious Givers- , has also joined hands with the school for distribution , ensuring Home Delivery to the needy . Apart from on the spot distribution of food packets, school is also booking orders telephonically, to make the procedure simple and people friendly. All COVID related norms are being followed during preparation and distribution of the food packets 7 .The initiative taken by Mrs Rohini Aima and the team from Sanskriti School Jammu has been highly appreciated by Brig Harcharan Singh and other members of NCCHWO, J. & K, Chapter.
